Tips
Deciding between group and private lessons can be tricky, especially for beginners. In many cases, group lessons are a great place to start—they’re engaging, social, and make the learning process feel more fun and less intimidating.
Private lessons are often seen as the “better” option, but that’s not always the case. They tend to work best for students who can focus היטently, stay disciplined, and retain information well. A big part of succeeding in private lessons also comes down to the effort put into practicing at home.
Group lessons, on the other hand, don’t require the same level of independent study or deep understanding of music theory right away. They’re designed to meet students where they are, with the teacher guiding both the group as a whole and individuals within it. This approach can create a supportive and motivating environment, especially for those just starting out.
